Hey, my name is Catherine Hurley, and I'm here today because I want to give you that latest training, I call "How To Get A Sponsors Attention".
This is my framework and course for how to get any potential sponsors attention and get them to agree to any meeting.

This is what happened...
7 years ago I was at the top of my road racing career. 4th novice overall in my organization. I was CONFIDENT I could get that number one plate.
I was training hard in the off season when my coach told me I should look at signing sponsorships to help support the long season ahead.
Eager to chase that number one spot, I sat down and built out all sorts of things to help me along the way, resumes, pitch decks, got all my media information buttoned up, and had proposals at the ready.
But I wasn't prepared for what happened next...
I was confused. I did what everyone told me:
And still I could barely get a half yes.
I told my trainer all my sorrows and woes, since I knew he had experience helping professional athletes from NFL players to Olympians. He HAD to know some secret I didn't.
And he said...
But if he's worked with enough athletes he must know SOMETHING. So I just said "okay" and put my head down and started campaigning even harder for sponsors.
And finally it happened...
I couldn't believe it! It was finally happening! An in person sponsorship meeting! That means they loved my material, they loved my proposal and they want to talk details. EEK!
Brimming with excitement I stayed up late that night reseaching the company,
Anything to prepare me for the meeting in the morning.
But I wasn't prepared for the one question they wanted me to answer...
Flustered...I didn't understand what they were asking me for. I already told them my grand scheme of how our two companies were going to work together.
It was going to be great, they would get all this exposure, and highlights. Shout outs and promos from supporting the team so we could take home the first place overall.
And so I repeated this back to them. Maybe they just missed it the first time, they just couldn't see how amazing they fit into the racing program and how it was that this was going to be good for them.
And instead of saying yes, they just said...
Head hung low in dissappointment, I just didn't understand what went wrong.
I covered all my bases.
I touched all the important parts of the conversation, and it really felt like it went well!
I was just left wondering...
If I kept following the same thought process that it's a numbers game. Then what I just learned was, it takes 100 emails, to get ONE meeting scheduled.
Then that meant 100 meetings to get ONE yes...THAT'S INSANE. And I just remember feeling so defeated.
But my trainer kept pushing me. Telling me I had a good cause, and good program to support. I mean a woman in motorsports? How hard could it be?
So I put my head down and kept pushing through the disappointment of each rejection, and each unanswered email ...
until it happened again...
Excited beyond measure, it was happening again! And this time I would NOT let the opportunity slip through my fingers. I was going to sign this sponsor. There was no other option.
I did my homework. I was prepared. This time it was a vinyl wrapping company. Adam was the owner and the man I was talking to.
I did my research. He had EPIC designs, won multiple international awards. I had the perfect pitch lined up.
When he gives my team SHOWSTOPPING wraps, the other racers will have no other option than to drool with envy.
They'll ask where it was done.
They'll want recommendations.
They'll want a wrap of their own for themselves and their whole team.
It was PERFECT! And then top that off with the press and media I was going to get from fighting for the top spot? EASY.
He'll have so much exposure he'll have to start turning racers down.
Confident in myself, and prior rejections long since forgotten in the excitement,
I walked into that meeting shoulders back and chin up...
And then it came again...
The dreaded question...
I couldn't believe it. It was happening. AGAIN.
But I wasn't going to lose this one. I switched tactics. I asked Adam if he could elaborate on what it was that was missing, and the answer shocked me...
Floored by this insane turn of events, but certain I didn't want to lose this opportunity I said the first thing that came to mind.
And that statement hung in the air. My unsurety of what he was going to say next, tangible in the air.
Adam sat back. Thinking for a moment and then came the response.
Puzzled but excited of course I said yes! I had done it! I signed my first sponsor and they wanted to see their wrap in action! It was perfect!
Except that's not what happened...
He came to the race track, and hung out in the pits with the team at the start of the day, but by the first hour, he was no where to be found.
He was walking around the main area talking to racers.
He was just asking them about their bikes, their set up, just getting to know the other racers. And in turn the racers asked him what he did? And he told them in very simple words.
And then he immediately switched back to asking about the racers.
Not once did he sell anything. Nor did he care about how I placed.
He didn't see a single race!
He didn't care about the radio interviews, newspaper articles or anything I got featured in. He just wanted to meet the racers.
And that's when I finally understood.
I thought it was all exposure, shout outs, mentions and the ability to sell a companies product.
But Adam couldn't care less about any of that.
What Adam wanted was the opportunity to connect and engage with my audience.
And once I figured that out, I started applying it to all the companies I reached out to.
I started looking at sponsorship opportunities differently.
I began to sign more sponsors, and the more I signed, the more input they had into my outreach.
I began to ask them what they liked about how I reached out, and what I needed to change.
...until I slowly started to master the skill, and I started to sign really good money with sponsorships!
Every time I would present to a sponsor I would rebuild my presentation.
After rebuilding my presentations DOZENS of times. I created a Framework that took EVERYTHING I had learned from working with MASSIVE corporations and brands, as well as what I discovered in my own experience...

Each time I wanted to sign a sponsor, I would take my program (whatever it is I do, whether I race or am starting a business or hosting an event) and plug it into this framework, then hit send on the email and BAM.
